After the holiday rush as retailers the biggest question is how do we keep that momentum going? How can you keep customers buying and get rid of seasonal stock just sitting on your shelves?
Well today, I've got a special guide just for you. To help guide you in using promotions to make the most from your sales post holiday.
First, it's important not to forget that people often have their sights on a particular things and if they didn’t get it, they might be inclined to buy it. Use this to do a retargeted ad with a promotion.
Next, gift cards, everyone is always in a hurry to redeem those after the holidays. You can use that to your advantage while optimizing the new year by promoting products to help people with new year's resolutions.
Lastly, school breaks. Kids around the world are often on break from school during and after the holidays. In fact, Australian children are on holidays for 6 weeks! So if you have anything that can help ease a parent’s soul during this time, promote it!

Today's guest is Susie and she is going to share great tips for creating a great collaboration and partnership.
All business are better together and when they are connected with another business or person. No one wants to share customers with others (especially with competition) but there is good reason why you should collaborate, Susie gave us some great examples for that.
Partnership is still kind of new to marketing, but it doesn't cost a penny but offers several benefits.
Susie explained what attributes your partners should have so you can offer to partner with them. And she mentions that it is very important they have good reputation. And on first touch you can see if they are interested, if yes then continue if not leave them and try find some other partner.
Keeping your customers happy is one key to gaining loyalty with them. For Example, if you don't have an item in your store you can send them to one you know has that item. With that you can be sure that customer will get what they need, and at the same time you are growing partnership with other business owners.

When it comes to the holidays, there is no better time to maximise your sales and fill up your bank account.
A large number of retailers do the majority of their trade during the holiday season, and for some stores, up to 70% of revenue is generated during this time.
Whether the holidays are your lifeblood, or they just provide a nice little boost, making sure that you secure every possible sale is a must.
So let’s talk about how you can choose the right products, in order to maximise those sales.
When it comes to choosing a product to promote, my top 4 go-to categories are:
If a product already turns over quickly and it can be expected that this has the capacity increase then this is where I love to start
Why? The product has already been tested by your market, and they clearly love it. Creating a promotion around a high volume product should focus on adding benefit, through bundling and complimentary product upsells. You shouldn’t need to discount a product that already sells well.
The holy grail of retail is a product with a high margin. This means that you sell if for significantly more than you buy it for, like triple, or quadruple.
These products give you a lot of leeway when it comes to creating promotions. You have the room to offer a discount (preferably on multiples), to utilise free shipping as an incentive, to bundle and to use as an upsell.
I personally love combining a high volume product with a high margin product

It’s not hard to feel overwhelmed with all of the jobs you have running your retail business. Keeping all the balls in the air, whilst still having a life, can be completely exhausting. I have to admit, as much as I love working, I’m pretty lazy when it comes to business. I’m the queen of ousourcing. If I can get someone else do a job that I don’t want to, or can’t do, then I’m all for passing that job onto someone else. It frees up my time, it keeps another person employed and these results are usually better for it.
But outsourcing takes money, right. Not always a lot, but it still costs. So increasing your sales and profit is a key factor to be able to free up your time and give you the freedom that you started this business for.
And honestly, you’ll only increase those sales and profits, if you’re actively marketing your store. But many retailers are scared of marketing. They see it as an expense they can’t afford. But I’m here to tell you, you can’t afford to NOT advertise. Even if it’s just a small budget, you need to be filling up your sales funnel and encouraging sales.
Today I’m going to share with 5 signs that you need help with your marketing

Last week, I went to do my yearly taxes.
Now this makes most people cringe, but for me, it was uplifting.
Not only did it give me a chance to see how things have changed in my business over the last 12 months, but I also analysed where money was going out, where it was coming in, places where we could make more money.
I also got to take about my accountant about budgeting over the next 12 months. I have forecasted my earnings for the next year, but I also know that I’ll have to invest heavily over in that time, in order to move my business to the next level.
We talked about the tax implications of both of those. Where will the money come from.

We also talked about setting aside money for taxes. Here in Australia, we have this thing called provisional tax, whereby you have to pay a big lump sum of tax each quarter. We went through all of my income sources, including non business income and investments, and now I know how much I need to put aside each week, in order to not get hit with a massive tax bill.

Remember the last time you saw a product on sale, for LESS than the price you could buy it for wholesale? It makes your blood boil, causes you to become a keyboard warrior in any facebook group you can asscess, and generally, makes you feel lik sh*t.
All this hard work that you’ve put in to building a reputable, ethical company, with sales staff that love your customers and are passionate about what they sell. It all goes out the window, if a customer can buy something retail, cheaper than you can buy it wholesale.
Or, does it?
There are many reasons why retailers sell below cost (or below the cost you could buy it for), so instead of being outraged, let’s take a look at how to leverage loss leader products.
So what are loss leader products, and why do stores waste time and money, having them?
Loss leaders are designed to draw you in, with the lure of a bargain, and the strategy to sell you more.
