The media loves spreading doom and gloom, when it comes to the economy, and retail. If you have a bad day, it’s easy to fall into the rabbit hole of despair and focus on anything negative that crosses your path.

But a poor sales day, does not have to equal a bad week, a bad month or bad year. It’s time to focus on the positive, so here are 10 facts about retail, that will instantly put you in a good mood.

I did some research, and according to Mailchimp, if you have an ecommerce site, the industry average is a 16.75% open rate, with a 2.32% click through rate. In the Retail industry, its 20.96% open rate with a 2.5% click through rate.

Compare that to Facebook’s current organic reach of around 2-6%, you can see that your email list is the actually the most valuable piece of real estate.
Which would you rather put the effort into, content that get’s in front of 2% of your audience, or content that gets in front of 20%?
